Sakurajima Island View

I will be in Kagoshima next month but I have heard that in the past August, there was an eruption of Sakurajima and a lot of ash fell into the city. Does Sakurajima Island view still operates and the city is back to the normal position or not? Thanks for an advice.

Sakurajima erupts about 3 times per day on average. Weather forecasts in Kagoshima include an ash forecast based on wind direction. The August eruption just happened to be a larger one that made it into the media. Falling ash is quite common in Kagoshima and does not usually affect transportation
Does Sakurajima Island view still operates and the city is back to the normal position or not?
I would be surprised if it was out of service for more than a day, if at all.
