Yufuin no Mori - Fukuoka airport to Yufuin?

Hi there! I'm trying to find travel arrangements to get from Fukuoka airport to Yufuin. I came across the Yufuin no Mori ( http://www.jrkyushu.co.jp/english/train/yufuin_no_mori.html). Can I buy tickets for this train on the day of arrival or do I have to reserve it now? Also, is this near the airport? If not, is there an easier way to get to Yufuin from the airport? Thank you so much in advance.

hi, Linda You can't go directly from Fukuoka airport to Yufuin. You take Fukuoka City Subway to JR Hakata Station and then take Yuguin no Mori. Yufuin no Mori is very luxury and beautiful, so it's very difficult to reserve. You can reserve one month before at 10:00 AM. You need good luck. If you have time, I think it nice to go by highway bus. You can go directly from the airport to Yufuin. Moreover, it's cheap! I recommend a booklet 4 (one-way 2,000yen * 4 = 8,000yen).
