Mt Fuji Hakone Trip 2014/2/27 12:53
I plan to travel to Mt Fuji and Hakone for 3 days 2 nights from 7 Apr to 9 Apr and plan to spend 2 nights at a Hakone ryokan. As we will have our luggages with us and will be buying the Fuji Hakone Pass, please recommend a travel itinerary for us, travel to Mt Fuji or straight to Hakone.

You should draw your own plan that fits your interests. Most attractions are listed here

A recommended hakone round course is described here

Thanks for the reply.
Will it be convenient to cover Mt Fuji first on the first day with our luggage? Are there luggage storage on the bus to Mt Fuji and Hakone?

If you plan to go directly to Hakone, you can usually show up early to your hotel and have them keep your luggage for you while you do the day tour. It's smoother if you check with the hotel first.

If you are planning on visiting Fuji 5 lakes first, then travel to Hakone to stay, there are coin lockers at major bus stops (Kawaguchiko, Fujisan, Yamanakako (Asahigaoka)).

Thanks for the information. Please help to provide the bus schedules for the following

1. Highway Bus from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko Station
2. Fujikyu Bus from Kawaguchiko Station to Gotemba Station
3. Hakone Tozan Bus from Gotemba Station to Gora

Would like to confirm that the Fuji Hakone Pass only covers the highway bus ride from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko Station only and not to Fujikyu Highland or Fujisan Station.

I am not sure but I think you can get off at Fuji-Q. Just ask when you buy your pass. Worst case scenario, you could backtrack which is like 3 mins train ride or 20mins walk.

Re: Mt Fuji Hakone Trip 2014/3/10 11:13
Thanks for the information.

I do not really understand the Hakone Tozan bus schedule from Gotemba Station to Gora Station, does it mean there's only buses in the morning and afternoon?

Is there another transport alternative from Gotemba to Gora covered under the Fuji Hakone Pass?

If we would like to visit some of the 5 Fuji lakes like Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako, is it covered under the Fuji Hakone Pass, if not, what are the buses we can take?

Re: Mt Fuji Hakone Trip 2014/3/11 08:59
Yes, direct bus is quite infrequent. If you go to gotemba premium outlet, there are more buses as described by Uji

Another alternative would be transferring from sengoku as described here
http://www.japan-guide.com/forum/quereadisplay.html?0+99108

Those 2 lakes directions are described in these pages

As far I can tell, fuji hakone pass will not cover this.
