Transportation on yakushima

Hey!
I am coming to Yakushima, either to Anbo at 13.00 or Miyanoura at 13.50 on the 26th of March. From there I wanna go to Yodogawa Mountain Trail Entrance and need some advice on this.

Approximately how much is a taxi from Miyanoura / Anbo to there? Is it hard to find a taxi?

Is it simple going by bus from Anbo to the trail entrance?

Also how much time do you think it will take from either place including the way from Anbo to the trail entrance?

The closer port to the trailhead is Anbo. There seems to be a Kotsu Bus that leaves Anbo port that goes to Yakusugi Cedar Land at 13:31, which is only a half hour after you arrive.

I highly recommend getting a rental car when in Yakushima. It's the fastest way to get from one spot to another!

Hi Eric,

Do you intend to stay the night at the Yodogawa Hut on the 26th? If you do then make sure you have warm gear as it is still cold up there at night. If you do not intend on staying the night then arriving up there in the late afternoon is a wasted journey. Also the taxi fare is very expensive as it is almost an hour's taxi ride.
