Toyama trip 2014/4/1 20:16
Hi, I am traveling to Nagoya Tateyama mid to end of this month, may I check:

1) Kurobe Gorge railway – Do I need to do a pre-reservation? I'm going on 23Apr14.
2) Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Round trip (8-9 hours) – Do I need to do a pre-reservation? I'm going on 24Apr14.
4) I will be staying at Oarks Canal Toyama, may I check on the best way to travel to these places.

Thank you for any advice in advance.

as long as it's not weekend or high season you should be fine without a reservation.

1) I think you can ride the train without reservation. However, on April 23, it is possible to go to Nekomata station in the middle, above does not resume from there yet.

2) You can book the ticket on the Web. Advantage of reservation is that it is possible to receive a ticket smoothly at Tateyama Station. However, bookable quantities are limited each day.

4) Hotel you plan to stay is located on the north side of JR Toyama Station. To go to them, you'll need to ride the train from the station of Toyama Chiho Railway located on the south side of the JR station.
