How long to stay at Tsurunoyu Onsen? 2014/4/1 22:09
Hello! I'm traveling to Japan soon and was wondering what a good amount of time to stay there would be. We're planning on heading there from Tokyo, so would a couple nights be good? Or would that be too much?

Thanks in advance!!

I always just stay a single night. But two nights would be very nice, too. During summer you could hike in the surrounding mountains (e.g. Akita-Komagatake) or visit Lake Tazawa or explore other baths in Nyuto Onsen or some other nearby onsen (e.g. Tamagawa Onsen). Or in winter it is possible to do snowshoeing. Or you could visit Kakunodate. Or do nothing and just relax (daytime can be surprisingly busy with daytrip visitors to the bath).
