Is anyone familiar with this suburb near Kyoto? I was wondering whether it has a good bus system within the area, so we can reach one of the train stations to travel to Kyoto.

Do you ask about the bus that runs between Kyoto and Mount Hiei? Hieidaira means the geographical name of the residential area to the south of Mount Hiei. http://www.keihan.co.jp/travel/en/whattodo/03.htmlhttp://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3911.htmlIt has been operating to Hieizan from Kyoto Station. It is 1 hour 45 minutes travel time to Enryakuji. Bus of four round trip is operated on weekdays. And it is increased high season and holidays. The time the last bus of the Kyoto bound to the departure Enryakuji, weekdays is 16:00, holidays is 17:00.

it is the residential area I'm referring to. I wondered how frequent are the buses from the Hieidaira residential area to Kyoto, and vice versa. Are buses the only option? No trains?

Does anyone know:
1. From central kyoto, what is the farthest train or subway station I can travel to in order to catch a taxi to the residential area of Hieidaira in Otsu?
2. Approximately, how much would the taxi cost?
Thank you for your advise on this.

I think for those who live in the inner city, such as Tokyo and Kyoto, about things that do not run only a few bus an hour each, and there are people who feel that it is inconvenient. In that town, I heard movement is going on as it is not that the bus is reduced.
