train from Kyoto to Narita airport

About half november we will go from Kyoto to Narita Airport. Our flight is due for 18.00 hrs. Is it possible to go by Shinkansen and will we arrive in time in Narita Airport?

I think you can swap trains at Tokyo Station.

Kyoto to Tokyo is about 2.5 hours. Tokyo to Narita is about an hour. Figure about 30-45 minutes transfer time at Tokyo and you have 4+ hours for the trip. If you have to be there 2 hours prior, I'd leave Kyoto about 11:00 to be safe. Use Hyperdia to type Kyoto and Narita 1 or 2 as the stations to get the route/transfers.

Alternatively, especially if you won't have a JR Pass, you can catch a LCC flight from Kansai airport to Narita. It would save you a couple thousand yen, and maybe also some time depending on the timing of the flight.
