HI! We are going to Japan for 17 days in July and our travelplan is nearly complete, I want to ask the following question: We will stay in Nikko 2 nights from the 20-22 of July. The 22nd we will go to Mt. Fuji to climb it and hopefullly stay at this place: http://www.goraikoukan.jp/english/Is it possible to go from Nikko to Mt. Fuji and reach the 8th station on the 22nd, say before 8 pm to rest before climbing to the summit before sunrise? And How do we go from Mt. Fuji to Minakami. We might want to do some outdoor activities like river rafting. Have any of you experienced that? And is it worth it compared to go to fx Kyoto? We have, after Mt. Fuji 3,5 days left. I look forward to always useful suggestions and comments, thanks

Minakami Town is much closer to Nikko City than Mt. Fuji. A route Nikko -- Mt. Fuji -- Minakami sounds roundabout.
Have you climbed mountains of over 3000 meters high?

Is it possible to go from Nikko to Mt. Fuji and reach the 8th station on the 22nd, say before 8 pm to rest before climbing to the summit before sunrise?Yes, but you should leave Nikko in the morning. How do we go from Mt. Fuji to Minakami.Via Tokyo. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.htmlhttp://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7461.htmlWe might want to do some outdoor activities like river rafting. Have any of you experienced that? And is it worth it compared to go to fx Kyoto? They are totally different experiences. If you are into outdoors activities you may want to try it in Minakami. But then again, you can only experience Kyoto in Japan while you can whitewater raft almost anywhere. I look forward to always useful suggestions and commentsIf you can drive, then I would consider doing Minakami right after Nikko. They are virtually next to each other easy to travel between by car. The train connection, however, is very roundabout and as Omotenashi pointed out, doing Mt. Fuji in between the other two is a big detour and wouldn't really make sense geographically.
