Koyasan via Shin-imamiya (instead of Namba)

I'm planning an overnight stay at Mt Koya - will be coming from Kyoto and then depart to Hiroshima a day later.
Hyperdia connections from Kyoto to Koyasan seem more convenient via Shin-imamiya station. But most websites suggest Namba. The routes via Namba seem to take longer and involve an 8 minute subway connection and more changes.
Any reason why not to connect via Shin-imamiya? It seems that there is also a ticket office for the World Heritage Pass. Am I missing something, or is it OK for me to connect via Shin-imamiya?
Thanks!

The only reason I can think of is that you have better chances to get a seat if you board at Namba than at Shin-Imamiya. But I personally have often made the transfer at Shin-Imamiya instead of Namba.

Thanks for answering. I'll probably stick to Shin-imamiya Station then!
