day trip noribetsu to lake toya

Hi,

could anyone tell me what are the details for public bus/train if i want to get from noribetsu to lake toya for a day trip to see mt usu and the fireworks at night. date of travel 18th may

information in english would be well appreciated.

There was a bus (private line I believe) from Noboribetsu Onsen over the mountains to Lake Toya but I do not know if it is still operating. The bus station was just up the hill from the Hanaya Ryokan.

To get from the bus station at Toya Onsen to the ropeway for Mt Usu I recommend a cab if there are no busses.
A day trip can easily be done but start early so you have plenty of time for everything you want to see.

If that one of the purposes of your ride to Usu Ropeway, from it, it is possible a route from Noboribetsu to Date Monbetsu Station, then, go to Sobetsu Onsen.

In order for you to go to Sobetsu Onsen from Noboribetsu Station, first, there is a need to go to Date Monbetsu Station aboard the JR. For timetable to Date Monbetsu from Noboribetsu, please use the hyperdia.

Travel time: about 26 minutes

It takes 8 minutes by bus from Sobetsu Onsen to Ropeway Station(Showa Shinzan Bus stop).
Sobetsu Onsen departure time:
10:07 12:42 14:47

Time of the last bus leaving is the Showashinzan 16:20. You will not be able to return to Noboribetsu on the same day if you do not get on it.

Service number of times since it is less buses above, it is recommended that you consider also means to take a taxi.

Fireworks of Toyako from 20:45 to 21:05 to be launched, watching it is difficult if you do not stay in there. Bus is not operated in that time period.
