Visiting Kita village (Miyama) 2014/5/30 09:03
I'm finding it hard to gather information on how to get to kita village.

1. From Google map, I can see that the bus stop icon near hiyoshi station is not beside any road. Is the bus stop located within Hiyoshi station building itself?

2. Is there a bus number for the buses to kita village? I'm afraid that I may board the wrong bus since I cannot read Japanese.

3. I am thinking of biking around kita village. Is there a bicycle rental shop near the kita bus stop where I can immediately rent a bike after alighting from the bus?

4. Is it possible to bike to Kajikaso nature center?

1. The bus will depart from the site of Hiyoshi Station. You'll be able to find a bus stop immediately after exiting the ticket gate of the station.

2. There is no number for the bus. The direct bus to Kitamura is the only service of holidays and Sunday from Hiyoshi Station. In the weekday, you must change buses on the way.

3. As far as I found out, The information about the bicycle rental service is low. Maybe, I guess if pay 1000 yen at Kayabukinosato near Kita bus stop, if you can borrow a bicycle. You'll be able to return at Kajikasou it to where it was borrowed.

4. To Kajikasou from Kayabukinosato is about 2 km. It is the distance that you can go by bicycle.

Thank you very much for your reply. The links you provided is very helpful.

I wont be able to use the sonobe-miyama bus since I will be visiting on a weekday in summer.

Since there is no bus number, is there any other way to identify the correct buses? I will be taking 4 buses (to and from Hiyoshi including the transfers) and I think I will definitely miss the transfer if I board the wrong bus.

If you are able to present to the bus driver the itinerary of you, using a simple Japanese or simple English, you convey hope to go to Kayabukinosato, he will do the appropriate information to you.

It is the bus that photo that is displayed at the bottom of the blog below has been operating.
