November in Hokkaido

Planning a trip to Hokkaido in early November (tentatively 1-10 Nov), focusing on southern part of the island. Is there any more autumn foliage during those time? Most discussion so far has recommend to visit on mid October for the foliage but we may not be able to make it in Oct. Would it be worth making the trip to Hokkaido in Nov if there is no more autumun foliage? (considering it is end of autumn and beginning of winter) Thank you

Would it be worth making the trip to Hokkaido in Nov if there is no more autumun foliage? (considering it is end of autumn and beginning of winter) If your trip to Hokkaido in Nov is mainly for Koyo, it will be too late . However, Hokkaido is a very big island, and there are many interesting places to visit in November. So it is definitely worth visiting. http://www.japan-guide.com/list/e1101.html

thanks liem, though koyo is not the main reason to visit Hokkaido, would want to see the foliage if given a chance. Many people share that Hokkaido is great for nature. afraid that Nov is too late for autumn, n too early for winter, and the trip will not be worthwhile. When approximately is the last days to see autumn leaves in mid/ southern Hokkaido? (given the best time to see is in mid Oct). will try to bring forward the trip if possible

Indeed Nov is a bit late for autumn foliage in Hokkaido. Although there is no way to accurately predict the weather, under average year koyo can still be enjoyed during late Oct in Hakodate and the Onuma Quasi National Park in southern Hokkaido.
