we are travelling to hokkaido to ski in feb 2015 and have a small number of options for accommodation in furano. We are planning to take day trips to asahidake and kamui by bus. Where exactly do these buses depart furano ( is it at the gondola base?)as we will try to pick our accommodation accordingly. Thanks Brendan

In both cases you first have to take the Lavender-go bus from Furano towards Asahikawa and transfer to a different bus. The Laveder-go buses stop at the Furano Prince hotels, Furano Station and some other stops in between.
To get to Asahidake Onsen:
Transfer to the bus to Asahidake at Asahikawa Airport.
To get to Kamui Ski Resort:
Transfer to the ski bus to Kamui at Asahikawa Station.
Some of these buses are not very frequent. Make sure to check the winter timetables in advance.
