Non-smoking Ryokans in Kawaguchiko 2014/8/3 12:40
Hi there,

I'm looking to stay one night in Kawaguchiko for my honeymoon in November. I almost booked Konansou with a private bath, however I noticed that they only have smoking rooms.

I cannot handle staying in a smoking area of a hotel as the smoke really bothers my breathing. Even a non-smoking room with a smoking room next door doesn't really work for me. Does anyone know of any nice ryokans in Kawaguchiko that have non-smoking wings or areas? I'd love a private bath but it's not essential. View of Fujisan would be wonderful also.

there's a couple of ones with views listed here but as to whether they're non-smoking or not I can't say

You may want to look at Hakone as well

Thanks adf,

I am actually spending a night in Hakone earlier in the trip, we are going to Kawaguchiko to see the five lakes attractions (caves etc) as well as spend a (part?) day at Fuji-Q.

If anyone has first-hand experience staying at any of the mid-high-end ryokans in the area, I'd love to know about the smoke levels/segregation of smoking/non-smoking areas.

Thanks again for your time. The accommodation list is really handy.
