Himeji Castle 2014/8/7 20:48
Dear all,

we want to visit himeji-castle this september, can you tell us whether it is worth, or whether we should better look at another castle in the surroundings of Kyoto? (Maybe Hakone?)

As I saw, the interieur of Himeji-castle is totally closed... :-(

Thank you for your help!

Himeji-Castle is a world heritage.
I love it and it is worth.
How about visiting Himeji Castle and eating Kobe beef?
By the way, which place will you visit?
Osaka area?

Anyway,I think Osaka castle, Himeji castle , Nijyo Castle are famous around Osaka area.

Yes, the castle will be closed until March 2015 but you can see it from the outside and at the moment it is pure white thanks to the rennovations. I don't know how long that will last before it starts to get dirty but it's definitely interesting for castle fans.

If you want to enter an authentic castle then Hikone Castle is a nice choice. Matsue Castle is a great one to enter as well and the architecture is interesting.

Dear all,

sorry for the late answer! Thank you all for the answers!

@Marvin: We will visit Kyoto, Himeji would be one of my favourite places to visit, but because it is closed, we will probably have to come back! :-) We will visit the Hikone-Castle...

@Rabbityama: Thank you. I think, the pure whitHimeji must be a impressive sigh, but I necessarily want to visit a Castle from inside...

Best regards from rainy Switzerland
