Train trips in japan? 2014/8/29 00:52
By train what is the best and fastest way to get from Mount Fuji to Hakodate? How many train changes do we require?
Are instructions easy to follow? Is it best to take a night train?or would we lose the scenery? With our fourteen day rail pass
may we reserve seats ahead of time? This are questions regarding our upcoming trip starting set ember 30t. Is there
anything else regarding this portion of our trip that we need to know?
Thanks a lot . We will be in touch for more questions.

Here you go:

It's at least three transfers. Btw, it can be quite a bit faster to fly.

Are instructions easy to follow?

Yes, the transfers are not too difficult.

Night trains will be more difficult to book and are not fully covered by the pass, but are an interesting option that will shift your travel time toward evening rather than the more valuable morning shinkansen trip. Note that you'll arrive in Hakodate around 6:30 AM. You can book in advance with your pass.

Where are you leaving from Mount. Fuji, what station?
Assuming Fujisan Station, Fujisan-Tokyo 130-150min 1-2 transfer.
Tokyo - Hakodate , 500-600min 3 transfer.

Fastest way, by plane to Hakodate airport:
Seems 80min flight from Haneda to Hakodate.
