Bus from Fukuoka to Yobuko morning market 2014/8/29 07:07
I'll be staying in Fukuoka but want to go the Yobuko morning market. I checked Hyperdia and, using subway and JR rail from Hakata station, the earliest I can reach Karatsu station is 7:18 a.m. (and the subsequent bus ride to Yokubo is apparently 30-40 minutes long). Is there bus service from Hakata station directly to Yokubo that would be more convenient and arrive at an earlier time to allow me to view the morning market early? Thanks!

Hakata-Yobuko nonstop bus was abolished in 2011.
If you want to go earlier than local bus, catch a taxi in Karatsu station.

The info on Hyperdia is correct. Also please be aware that aside from the market and seeing lots of squid there is not much else there. Nearby though are the Nagoya Castle ruins (not to be confused with that of Nagoya City) and Karatsu Castle is small but quite nice.
Fukuoka has a number of good sites to see as well, you can look through many places at:

Since you mentioned public transportation, Fukuoka has its Fukuoka Tourist City Pass which may save you some money as well:

Thank you, ken! We're planning to eat our way through Yokubo and Karatsu, actually! And then, to burn off those calories, we'll take the walk through Niji no matsubara.
