From Nagiya to Kyushu

I really need informations about my trip.
So here it goes...
I'm planing to go to Nagoya next January, and from there I'm heading to Kyushu. I have the JR Pass for 7 days. My questions are:

1. Can I use my JR Pass?
2. How long will it take to get to Kyushu from Nagoya?
3. Where is the best nature site in Kyushu to experienced during January?

Where abouts in Kyushu? I am assuming you mean Hakata/Fukuoka?

Yes you can use your JR pass.

Assuming you want to leave Nagoya at around 9.00am, do the following:

Shinkansen Hikari:
Nagoya to Shin-Osaka
Departs 9:19am
Arrives 10.26am
67 Minutes

Transfer time 33 Minutes

Shinkansen Sakura:
Shin-Osaka to Hakata
Departs 10.59am
Arrives 1.34pm
155 Minutes

Total Time taken: 255 Minutes

As for the best to see in Kyushu? Im not really sure, But I imagine the more rural onsen towns would be nice in January
