scenic/fun place to go for a resident?

i have 3 weeks of college for autumn break. (i live in tokyo japan) I'd love to take a few days to a week trip somewhere.
Is there anywhere that you can suggest that is scenic and enjoyable. I've been to all the usual places (tokyo, kyoto, osaka, kobe, okayama, fukuoka, takayama, kanazawa, hokkaido). Thanks :)

I remembered now.
If autumn, Nagano & Obuse is also recommended.
Chestnut Obuse is delicious.
I think Jigokudani hot springs close.

It really depends on the week you are travelling. Tohoku will have nice scenery for the next 2 to 3 weeks, then it moves down to the mountains of central Honshu and then near Tokyo....
