Train from Sapporo to Kushiro in winter

I plan to travel around Hokkaido this winter. One trip will be by train from Sapporo to Kushiro via Abashiri and Teshikaga about the 30th December. Will the trains run on this route at that time of the year? And will trains run from Kushiro to Sapporo around that time?

Yes. Only rarely may they temporarily stop because of a storm or the like (but that can also happen during any other time of the year).
And will trains run from Kushiro to Sapporo around that time?
Yes, same as above.
