Hi, we (2 adults) plan to travel to Hokkaido during Jan 2015. However, we’ve doubt on the transportation. How to be cost effectively ?
Which one shld I use :-
a)JR Pass 3days \15,430/\22,110 + apt single trip ?
b)JR 4 or 5 days \20,060 /\27,770 ?
c)purchase each route by single trip ?
No idea for transportation cost from Tomamu to Toya and Lake Toya to Sapporo.
My Itinerary as below :-
D1 8/1 airport to Tomamu
(arrv New Chitose Airport 8am) JR = \3850 (1 hour) , by bus \2,500 (2.5 hour)
D2 9/1 Tomamu
Not require
D3 10/1 Tomamu to Lake Toya JR \?? (Tomamu/Minami Chitose/Toya) 3 hours
D4 11/1 Lake Toya to Sapporo
Option 1) Book Hotel with provide free transport to Sapporo
Option 2) by JR \?? By Bus 2.5hours \??
D5 12/1 Sapporo to Otaru to Sapporo by Sapporo-Otaru Welcome Pass \1,530/pax
D6 13/1 Sapporo to Airport
(Flight ETD: 1055hrs)
\1,040/pax JR 急行 (45mins)

Opp... I just realise Lake Toya Hotel is a bit far frm JR station after saw yr adivse. Many thanks.
I found that the public bus frequency is less & It's freezing cold too.
What's the convenient way to view the crater & smoke rising frm Crater depart from Toya hotel. By taxi & up by ropeway ?
