Fastest and easiest to get to Tokyo Station 2014/9/28 17:15
Hi, I will stay at the hotel in Shinjuku area, plan to catch the Nozomi at Tokyo station to Kyoto at around 10.00am so I should leave hotel 9.00am, will the station and the train still crowded at that time ? or should I go by taxi ? We are a group of 5 and plan to send the luggages in advance to kyoto if stay at Shinjuku area.

Actually I 'm confusing in choosing the hotel. Another option is stay near Tokyo station but worry about finding the express bus terminal on day2.

My plan is
day1: arrive Narita 16.00pm
day2: morning :some sightseeing.
12.00 :take express way bus to kawaguchiko.
day3: 13.30 :arrive at shinjuku expressway bus terminal.
afternoon to evening :walk around Harajuku , Shibuya.
day4: 9.00 :leave for Kyoto by Shinkansen

Please suggest .

Can I suggest you stay at Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Shinagawa which is directly across the road form Shinagawa Station which happens to be main JR line station this makes getting around Tokyo a breeze and also happens to be a Shinkansen station so from your hotel room to Shinkansen station is a 10 minute walk

not sure about your accommodation budget.
In Shiunjuku area, "Kadoya Hotel Shinjuku" is close to "Shinjuku Bus Terminal"(1-2 mins walking distance), to Shinjuku Station(4-5 mins walking distance).

"Keio Plaza Hotel" is also close to the bus terminal and station.

"Shinjuku Washington Hotel" is a budget hotel but you need to walk 10-15 mins from Shinjuku Station.

You can catch a Shinkansen from Shinagawa Station(as well as Tokyo Station).
In Shinagawa area, "Toyoko Inn Tokyo Shinagawa-eki Takanawa-guchi", is a budget hotel.

"Shinjuku Highway Express Bus Terminal" locates in front of "Yodobashi Camera Head Store"(Shinjuku station west exit). You can use a taxi from Shinagawa to the bus terminal, but unable to use a taxi from Shinjuku Station(it's only 1-2 mins from the station).
You can move from Shinagawa to Shinjuku station by JR Yamanote-line(Green train).

thank you Loz and tokyo friend48, I think I won't get on at Shinakawa coz it stop only 2 minites .
I may stay at Shinjuku but still worry which should be easiest to go to Tokyo station.

Should I take Yamanote line or Chuo line ? Will it be vey crowded at 9.00am? How about the traffic if I take the taxi?
still ookg for more suggestions,thanks.

Which date? regular weekday?

If so 9am trains(JR Yamate,Chuo) still crowd than daytime(after 10am)
but morning rush overed already no problem not so long time ride.

Not need taxi(s).
And in Japan (any cities/towns except airport) regular size taxi are 4 passengers type most(over 95%).

I guess both JR Chuo and Yamanote lines 9 a.m. on weekdays still be crowded.
If you bring luggage with you, I recommend you to take a taxi or take a train before 7 a.m.
The taxi fare is approx 2,500-3,000 Yen between Shinjuku and Tokyo station.

Re: Fastest and easiest to get to Tokyo Station 2014/9/30 01:50
It will be wednesday 19 November to catch shinkansen. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm considering stay at the hotel Ryumeikan near Tokyo station to avoid the crowd and the traffic.

And on Monday17 I try to reach Shinjuku station 1 hour before the Kawaguchiko Express bus daparture time so I have enough time to find the bus stop.
