8 days Tsukuba-Tokyo- Osaka- Tokyo 2014/10/1 06:03
Hi everyone,
Need some suggestions on my plan visiting Japan for 8 days. I'll be visiting Tsukuba (stay for 4 nights) then Osaka (stay for 2 nights) and Tokyo (stay for 1 night). During my stay in Osaka, I plan to go to Tokyo (commuting).
Is JR pass worth it?

Then what do I need to travel in Tokyo and in Osaka when i visit these cities? I thought JR pass was used for all but then found out that it is only for Shinkansen?

Inputs are most welcome.

How you will visit to Tsukuba.
Tukuba Express is better choise.
But JR Pass cannot cover the Tskububa Express.
If you will use JR pass with round-trip byw Tokyo-Osaka only, it is not worth to purchase JR pass.
If I am you, I will buy single ticket btw Tokyo-Osaka.
Also you can ride fastest Shinkansen.

Could you post your whole itinerary, including which airport you will fly into and depart from.

JR Pass IS used for "JR" train transport, both Shinkansen (inter-city) and within cities, but for JR Pass purchase to be justifiable, you need to make some inter-city trips, that is all. So that's why I would like to see your whole itinerary.

And what do you mean you "commute" to Tokyo? One way between Tokyo and Osaka takes almost 3 hours....
