Halloween Tokyo

Hey All
My partner and I will be in Tokyo from 27/10 until early November. We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia and I heard it has really picked up in Japan - can anyone recommend any parades that are on or anything of particular note we should check out whilst there for this time?
We will be based in Ueno
Thanks! Liz

On the 31st starting 4pm, many shops in the posh Motomachi Shopping Street will be welcoming trick-or-treaters in costumes. I'm not sure how many "adults" will be trick-or-treating, but I'm sure you can see some authenticy there as the area had always been known to be American-friendly. http://www.motomachi.or.jp/event/halloween2014.htmlYou can get there by taking the JR Keihin-Tohoku line to Ishikawa-cho station, or the Minato-mirai line to Motomachi-Chuukagai station. Otherwise, I'm sure there will be something more authentic going on in Hiroo station area, which is closer to Ueno, but I can't find anything on the internet. Meanwhile, I can't really say that Kawasaki's Halloween is authentic, but I suppose you can see a Japanese style Halloween, which doesn't really amuse my IMHO. I'm afraid that most of the events aimed for adults end by the weekend of 25/26th. Hope you have fun anyway!

Your best place in Hiroo (on Hibya Line) is this Sunday 26th October, by National Azubu Supermarket, and Arisugawa Park, starting 11am - 4pm is Halloween Feast and Flea Market, then at 4pm - 5pm is the Costume Contest, which is a pre-registered parade of people in their Halloween Costumes. Great to see if you want to see Halloween. Fun!

I was wondering if there would be any trick-or-treaters in Hiroo area on the 31st, since the OP would not arrive to Japan until the 27th.
