Karatsu in Dec

Hi,

Would like to seek any advice on whether Dec is a good time to go Karatsu? Intend to visit the Yobuko morning market and make a trip to Imari for the pottery town. May I know how long is the drive from Karatsu to Imari. Is there another pottery town nearer to Karatsu.

Decide to stay a night in Karatsu as I want to make my way back to Hakata the next day.
