Things to do in Nagoya/Gifu for half a day

Hi,
I'll be travelling to Gifu for half a day while spending my night in a ryokan at Gero. I'll be arriving Nagoya approximately at about 3pm. Any advise on things to do around?
I'll be there in February so I think its like mid winter.
