How to book Sagano Kanko train in advance?

Is it possible to book the Sagano Scenic train in advanced from overseas or online? The two of us will be in Kyoto in 2 weeks time but don't want to run out tickets on the day we visit Arashiyama.

Is it possible to book the Sagano Scenic train in advanced from overseas or online?
Advance purchases are only possible through JR ticket offices in the JR West service area and at travel agencies across Japan. I don't think that travel agencies outside of Japan can sell them. And there is no online system.
