Bus ticket to Takachiho bus center

Heading to Takachiho bus center, I'm just wondering whether or not we need to reserve the bus ticket in advance, either departing from Nobeoka or Kumamoto? If so, where and how? Thank you very much.

It states:

We are operating the bus with "seat capacity system" (first come first get the seat system), so you do not need to pre-book the seat. In case the seats are full, you might not get ride on the bus.

Note also that Miyazaki Kotsu also runs buses between Nobeoka and Takachiho, which are slightly more frequent than the Kumamoto-Nobeoka highway bus (about one per hour). On the other hand they take longer since they make more stops along the way. The price is the same (1790 yen).
