Quiet onsen village in Hokkaido 2014/11/28 02:02
We are looking for a quiet and interested onsen village to spend 2 nights in Hokkaido this winter.

We have been to Nozawa Onsen near Nagano before and are looking for something similar. Walkable and interesting village center...nothing to built up/glitzy.

Thanks!

Lake toya is quiet with few buildings taller then 5 stories

Noboribetsu onsen is famed for its onsen, it is not noisy (Toya quieter) and is really small. You can walk to length and breath of it in an hour.

Noboribetsu is famous and so-so quite.
Jyozankei also be famous and nearest from Sapporo.

You could try Sounkyo Onsen if you have time to get to it.

Here's an onsen list in English:

You would know your time budget and what's accessible for your itinerary.
