Road trip options in December

Can anyone give us some road trip options for 2-3 days?
1) From Tokyo 20,21 and 22 December
2) We do not want to use snow chains for tires.
3) Scenery, Onsen and food are the main objectives.
Suggestions are welcome except Hakone, Nikko

Drive to Gunma
Drive back to Tokyo
Road trips is not recommended for Tokyo winter area. Trains/buses would be better.

Izu sounds good. We have been there 5-6 years back.
Although road trips are not recommened, it's the most convenient option for a family. Train bus options are far too expensive, time consuming and incovenient.
Will Hida Takayama have snow around this time?
Any place in Yamanashi prefecture?

Yes, there is a high chance of snow. In fact I believe that it is snowing right now.
Any place in Yamanashi prefecture?
Fujigoko is also nice. And you don't need winter tires for most of the area.
