Tohoku winter 2015 2014/12/15 23:21
Hi,

My plan as follows:

Feb 17, 2015 Home to Narita to Sendai
Feb 18, 2015 Sendai to Matsushima
Feb 19, 2015 Yamadera to Zao Onsen
Feb 20, 2015 Zao to Mogami river cruise to Naruko onsen
Feb 21, 2015 Naruko to Hiraizumi
Feb 22, 2015 Hiraizumi to Morioka
Feb 23, 2015 Morioka to Nyuto onsen
Feb 24, 2015 Nyuto onsen to Kita Akita to follow Gono line
Feb 25, 2015 To Hirosaki to Aoni onsen
Feb 26, 2015 To Lake Towada
Feb 27, 2015 Aomori
Feb 28, 2015 Aomori to Home

I will get a rental to drive from Sendai to Aomori. I'm thinking if I should do the trip the other way; that is, from Aomori - Sendai?

Any places worth visiting that are not in my itinerary?

Feel free to add please.

Do you have that you drove the snow-covered road?
If if not, the drive is not recommended.
That time is the time most snowy.
In addition, winter is to also closed to traffic of the road, there is a possibility that the car or congestion.
State of Mogami River cruise last year's February 18
If snow is large, there is also likely to be canceled.
However, the ship has a kotatsu, it is possible to listen to Minyo(folk song).

Thank you for your information.

I have winter driving experience and will get a 4WD car.

I have a problem with the return flight from Aomori to Haneda at 8am. How to get to Aomori airport so early in the morning? The first bus departs at 0645 and reach airport at 0720. Will there be enough time to check-in and board the plane?

Still, because of the February schedule is not listed, do not know the time of the exact bus.
However, bus seems to come out in time for the departure time of the airplane.
When the plane arrived late, and the baggage claim is delayed, seems to also be the starting time of the bus is late.
When the plane is delayed, you may not be able to connect.

Where do you plan to stay during that time? It seems like you would stay at a different place each night, which I really don't recommend because it means you basically have to carry your luggage everywhere you go (unless you use Takkyubin, but if you use it every time it would cost a significant amount), and also that you always need to factor in check-in and check-out times.

If possible, try to stay at each place at least two nights in a row. Then you have at least one day (between the to nights) where you are free of such worries.

Hi,

I plan to take a bus from Tokyo to Yamagata or Sendai. Is there such a route and where is the bus terminal?

Thank you so much Haro and Firas for your information!

Is Yokote worth visiting as I would have missed the Kamakura festival?
