Is Japan JR pass worth for below?

Hi,
i will be travel to Osaka on this April17, and intend to visit alpen route since the place is opening.
pls advise if my route plan below worth for JR Pass ? or JR promo ticket with Alpen Route.
osaka~Toyama~alpen route~Nagoya~osaka

Osaka - (limited express) - Kanazawa - (shinkansen) - Toyama - (Alpine Route) - Shinano-Omachi - (regular train) - Matsumoto - (limited express) - Nagoya - (shinkansen) - Osaka Alternatively, you could backtrack the Alpine Route and travel back the same route you came. In that case you could consider using the Kansai-Hokuriku Pass: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361_kansai_hokuriku.htmlThe Japan Rail Pass will not pay off for this trip alone. You will have to do some additional JR traveling in order for the pass to pay off.
