Mt Fuji day tours 2015/3/10 14:40
My husband will be in Tokyo at the end of March and wants to see Mt Fuji.

The Mt Fuji/Hakone day tours look like they involve a lot of driving and not much sightseeing - are they worth it? Are the ones with the forest walk better than including Hakone?

Could he easily make his own way to Lake Kawaguchiko by train/bus for the day?

Any suggestions very welcome! Thanks.

I did the Grayline tour. My boyfriend did it the first time by himself and another with me.

He said it was very rushed (I agree). There was heavy traffic and as a result, it cut into our day and it was very hurried. Also, the tour guide tried to stress and encourage ppl to take the shinkansen back to Tokyo which was more money. I wanted to spend time exploring Hakone but we just had 30 mins.
