Travel to Amami Oshima and Kakeroma Island

Me and my friends are planning to travel to Amami Oshima and Kakeroma Island as the place seems very great. However, it is very hard for us to search and book hotel and hostel since no website is in English, no online or english email booking and we don't know Japanese nihongo.
So I would like to know if anyone can tell us where can we book hotel or hostel online or through email? Will they reply in English? Any suggested plan or tips for travelling to the two beautiful places?

Honestly I thought Kakeroma to be very rural place (I once visited there) and was surprised that there are 9 accommodations and each seems to be rather decent (and more expensive than I expected).

Amami is a very interesting place.
Not only its beautiful beachs and forest, but also their unique culture.
Be sure to drink Shochu (ditilled liquor) with local people.
