IC Card 2015/5/12 06:11
What a fantastic forum this is! A big thank you to Japan-Guide!!!!
My question: We are thinking of getting an IC card for use in Tokyo and Hakone. Would use it primarily on Tokyo subway, and the Hakone-Tozan railway. Would the SUICA card be the best one to purchase? (We have a JR pass so don't need to worry about JR trains)

If you are staying in the Tokyo area, the SUICA is really the only IC card you can purchase! It will work for everything. If you're thinking about doing the Round Course in Hakone, consider an Odakyu Hakone Freepass.

SUICA purchased in Tokyo shouldn't give you a problem in those places.

You can purchase the Suica or PASMO in Tokyo and both can be used in those areas.
More information on IC cards can be found here http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_003.html

I've got the Suica card myself. More because of the penguin that's on the card, who couldn't trust a penguin?
