Hiking Mt. Fuji - 2 days 2015/5/14 05:50
Hi everyone,

I am from 28th august to 27th sept. in japan. Before i do the business stuff, i want to hike mt fuji. my plan was to start at 29th and take the bus from shinjuku to the 5th station then hike to one of the highest huts and spend their some hours until i will make the final ascent in the early morning hours to watch the sunrise from the top and then make the descent to the 5th station (30th august) and get back to tokyo.

Is this possible so 2 days are enough?

thanks a lot for your help,

chris

Yes, that is the typical way to climb the mountain. Note that it generally not advisable to climb the mountain immediately after arriving in Japan. Better to wait until you've acclimated to the climate and time change first. More info here:

One night two days climbing is an average climbing itinerary.
The chance of seeing sunrise is 50% always.
