Nara, lockers at station? 2015/5/21 14:16
Hi!

from Kyoto on our way to Tokyo we wanted to go to Nara for a day trip because we have to check out at 10:30am and rather do a day trip than carry our luggage with us around Kyoto for our last day!

1st question: is there a direct JR train line from narra to tokyo? 2nd question: are there lockers at the station to leave our lockers in Nara for the day? this is last case scenario if we cannot leave our luggage at the hostel.

thanks!!

No. you have to come back to Kyoto.
there is coin lockers at Nara station.

you can leave your luggage in coin lockers at Kyoto station in the morning. then you may have a round trip to Nara.

Leave early in the morning to give yourselves maximum time in Nara - there's lots to see, and the shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo is a long trip!

Turns out I booked a day later for Kyoto so going to stay a night in nara!

Any suggestions of what to do? Is it worth the night stay over?

Nara Park is huge, there's plenty to see - I spent two nights and 1.5 days there.
