Hi, I have noticed when riding the Shinkansen in Japan when the train has stopped at the stations (not before stopping) there is a pinging sound heard several times with some seconds between. It is not the train jingle (shanai), just a simple pinging or maybe ponging sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivZ1K31__YQHere you can hear it clearly from 16.00 for a few moments...

The door charms are active while shinkansen doors open for people with blind disabilities not to go the opposite side doors to prevent any damages occur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqyaF39yrCoThe charms are also installed around escalators and stairs to warn for those people with blind disabilities.
