Hiking the old Tokaido highway in Hakone 2015/6/14 00:20
Hi,

I am thinking of hiking the old Tokaido highway in Hakone. Is it better to (1) start from Hatajuku and walk to Moto-Hakone or (2) start from Moto-Hakone and walk to Hatajuku?

Which way would involve more uphill trekking?

Thank you

Personally I think that (1) is much more dramatic.

Hatajuku is located about 70 meters lower than Moto-Hakone; so (1) involves more uphill walking. But there is also one steep uphill section involved if you hike in the opposite direction.
