Osaka Castle Closed for public

Hi.. I will be arrived in Osaka at 27 December 2015 around 15.30 pm. I just found out that Osaka Castle will be closed at 28 December. Here my question, is it only the main tower castle that will be closed or entire area also closed for public? I mean can we take a photo around the main tower castle, let say in Japanese garden. If all area are closed, what time does the castle closed? Can we go there around 17.00 pm? Thanks

Just the main castle tower. I believe the park around it is open 24 hours.
