Travel to Mt Komagatake

Hi, we will be travelling to Hakone in a week. We understand that the Hakone ropeway is currently closed, so was wondering (if it's a clear day) would we also be able to see Mt Fuji from the top of Mt Komagatake?
We will be staying near the Moto-Hakone stop, so how can we travel to Hakone-en (from where we can take the Komagatake ropeway). Never been to Japan before and I found the transportation options in Hakone very confusing, please help! What buses/other mode of transport can we take and any idea of the fare? Many many thanks in advance!

Yes, on a clear day you get to see Mt. Fuji from there too.

When it comes to access - what else/where else in Hakone would you be seeing?

Your "entry" point into Hakone area will be Odawara then Hakone-yumoto.

- If you are coming to Hakone somewhat late in the day and just want to get to your hotel in Moto-Hakone, then you can take a bus from Hakone-yumoto directl to Moto-Hakone.

- If you are starting early in the day, and trying to do the Hakone circuit and want to go counter-clockwise, you can go from Hakone-yumoto to Gora via Hakone Tozan Railways, then there is a bus that takes you around (and away from) Owakudani and gets you to Togendai, then you can take the sightseeing pirate ship to Moto-hakone.

OK, from Moto-hakone, you take Izuhakone Sightseeing Boat to Hakone-en.

You could also take a bus from Togendai to Hakone-en (Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus) if you are coming from that direction.
