JR Rail Pass between Hiroshima, Osaka, Tokyo

Can you use the JR Rail Pass to travel on the Shinkansen between Osaka and Hiroshima and then Hiroshima to Tokyo.
Some site's I have looked at say yes but others are contadictory, so I am confused.

Hyperdia is a very useful site for your travel planning http://www.hyperdia.com/en/When using Hypedia for Shinkansen travel using JR Railpass between Hiroshima - Shin-Osaka (Shinkansen station for Osaka) - Tokyo, under " More options " untick options for - " NOZOMI / MIZUHO / HAYABUSA (SHINKANSEN) " (JRP users are excluded from using NOZOMI & MIZUHO but allowed on Tohoku HAYABUSA) - " Private Railway"
