Re-entry permit to Japan for CoE 2015/8/27 15:04
Hi All,

I have got the CoE which is valid for one year. My visa reads it is a single entry visa. I need to temporarily travel back to my home country for 20 days. Is this possible with the same visa or Do I have to apply for re-entry ? Can someone guide on the procedures ?

thanks
Binita

Yes, if you are on status of residence other than visitor, you can leave and re-enter.
Procedures explained on Immigration website

As you will be out of the country for less than 1 year, you do not need to apply in advance.

fyi, your visa gets you single entry into the country. Then once you arrive at immigration they will assign you a status of residence, which is what allows you to stay for a year, with in/out privileges during that time.
