Alps Itinerary Advice

Hi All
I was hoping for some advice guidance on an itinerary I'm planning for the Alpine area. Below is the itinerary I have in mind
Kyoto - 3 nights Takayama - 2 nights Kamikochi - 2 nights Shirakawago - 1 night Kanazawa - 2 nights Alpine Route to Tokyo (a very long day but probably worth it)
Is two nights in Kamikochi too many? We wouldn't attempt any of the more arduous hikes but would definitely do a few. Would that second night be better spent somewhere else in the region? We'd be relying on public transport.
Thanks!

Doing a few meaning two-three hikes? If so, unless you are young, energetic, and fit I recommend two nights. Especially with the time taken to enter and leave the area.

Yeah that's it, two-three short hikes, maybe a couple of hours each. Thanks for the feedback! Was hoping I'd get to spend two nights there.
