In Naes reply to YummyChris on 2014/3/5, he quoted to take Keifuku electric railway from Arashiyama to Kitano Hakubaicho station (requires a transfer at Kitabiranotsuji station}. What does it mean by a transfer is needed? Does it mean change to a different train?
This info is useful to me as I shall be visiting Arashiyama on 26 Nov 2015 and after the Togetsuko bridge, will head to Kinkakuji temple.

The rail tracks split. Like a fork road. Same train company but different track.
