Does it snow in Lake Towada and Aomori now?

I plan to go to Aomori and Lake Towada during 24-27 October to see the autumn leaves. I heard that it snows now. Is it true? Will I be able to see it during that period? Any reply n information would be appreciated.

On higher peaks of Aomori Prefecture, there has been some snow, but not around Lake Towada yet!
Will I be able to see it during that period?
Yes, I think there should still be some colors around.

It's just begun to snow (a few days maybe) at Mt. Hakkoda but I think it's only at the very top.
