Best Beef Tongue Restaurant in tokyo?

I've been to Negishi (which I like) and now I just read about Date No Gyutan.. Which is better? Will be visiting Tokyo next week and intend to have a meal of Gyutan. Should I stick to Negishi or try out Date? Or anyone with a better recommendation, please?

I recommend Rikyu!You can have gyutan at the Tokyo station.
The price is a little more expensive than negishi.
But I'm pretty sure you smack your lips.

There are not many Date no Gyutan and Rikyu restaurants in Tokyo . They are based in Sendai.
Negishi is based in Tokyo so there are heaps Negishi restaurants in Tokyo. If you liked Negishi, visit Negishi again.

Thanks for your input.. It's a pity not many outlets for Rikyu and Date.. Can only fit in a lunch somewhere near Shibuya & Omotesando.. Found on the Negishi website they've opened a new store (Oct 5) at Omotesando (Meiji Dori). Hopefully already opened for my trip next week!

I prefer Date no Gyutan slightly, but they have only three branches in Tokyo - two by Tokyo station and one in Ikebukuro.

Date is best! Soft and thick. Order the large size. Kitte shopping center across Tokyo station. Busy place so be prepared to wait at peak hours.

I agree that Date is great! If you like that though, you will love the yude-tan at Shinobu in Yotsuya. It's amazing!

I checked Date closes by 9pm so doubt I can do it this trip. Will keep the other place in mind as well. Tq!

Just returned from Tokyo.

I tried Date No Gyutan (Kitte branch). Wasn't sure if I prefer it to Negishi as it had been a year since Negishi. Thus, few days later I went to Negishi. I now can conclude that I prefer Negishi. The thick ox tongue at Negishi is better for me since it has ridges. Also, I prefer the flavour. Furthermore, the yam has a better taste.
Cheaper too!
