Local transportation costs in Kobe?

Hello!
So I am trying to fill out a budget worksheet for an outgoing exchange to Kobe,
and I am apparently unable to find local information about the prices of buses, train, subway, etc.
that I would need to use possibly on a daily basis in order to get to school, shopping, and whatnot.
I can find long distance travel costs such as the Shinkansen to Tokyo and such, but I want to
find just the costs for transportation within the city.
I will be going to Kobe for long-term, so a single traveling month pass or whatever will not work for me, I would need to use local passes most likely. Thanks!

There will be commuter passes for 1, 3 and 6 months. These passes are strictly for one station/bus stop to the other: In general, there is no city wide pass in Japan.
If you will live in the "lowland" in Kobe and your school is also in the lowland, bicycle might be a good option.
