Hi I have a JR Hokkaido Pass. Can I travel from Hakodate to Aomori using this pass?

Maybe HappyWanderer is thinking about 10 million years ago when the islands of Hokkaido and Honshu were still connected.

Haha.. Thanks Hakuto. I might have been thinking of 10 million years ago. Were the islands disconnected by some tsunami? Thanks

When the Hokkaido Shinkansen opens, and if JR Hokkaido includes it in their pass, then it will be valid to Shin-Aomori.

Oh, and by the way, even the current JR Hokkaido pass is valid to Naka-Oguni station, which in Aomori prefecture. The areas of railway companies do not exactly match geographical boundaries.

Unfortunately, however, it has already been decided that the Hokkaido Rail Pass will NOT be valid on the Hokkaido Shinkansen.
